Job Description:

Interns work on various short-term projects in all divisions of Bridge.  The positions offer students a great opportunity to learn about the language, education, and travel fields.  Ideal for undergraduates majoring in International Studies, or anyone majoring in a language or education-related field.

Projects: (subject to vary)

  • Recruiting non-native English speakers for our teacher-training courses (volunteers to be students for the teaching practice)
  • Gathering feedback from our customers using Survey Monkey or other survey tools. Reporting on results.
  • Following up with our current teachers, students, and volunteers abroad, gathering testimonials/referrals, photos, etc.
  • Help set up a blog
  • Updating pre-departure information for our foreign language and volunteer programs abroad. Working with our worldwide partners to accomplish this.
  • Updating email templates in our database to ensure consistency and accuracy. information sent out to participants
  • Outreach to universities, posting listings on their sites

Requirements:

Undergraduate majoring in International Studies or a language / education related field.

Qualities Sought:
  • Extremely organized with close attention to detail.
  • Superior communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent phone etiquette.
  • “Can-do” attitude. Thinks creatively. Solves problems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability regarding job responsibilities a must.
  • Excellent computer skills. Familiarity with databases.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred; knowledge of at least one foreign language a plus.
  • Experience studying, volunteering, or teaching English overseas.
  • High degree of global awareness.

Compensation:

Upon completion of 240 hours of work (20 hours/week for 12 weeks), the intern will be given a voucher for a free IDELT course (a $2,495 value and worth 6 graduate-level credits).
