Job Description:

 

BridgeTEFL Teacher Trainers are cross-trained to be able to conduct any of the BridgeTEFL course offerings. These include the IDELT, the BCELT, the CELTA, TEFL 101, TEFLOnline.com, and TEFL Endorsements. This position is full-time.

Job Duties:

Course Administration & Execution
  • Coordinating sufficient staffing for all courses
  • Conducting pre-course interviews
  • Sending out pre-course information
  • Help set up a blog
  • Conducting input sessions
  • Conducting Teaching Practice (TP) sessions
  • Overseeing Guided Lesson Planning (GLP) sessions
  • Grading and assessment
  • Accurately maintaining records (hard-copy and in database); filing accordingly
  • Recruiting volunteer students for TP sessions
  • Submitting CELTA reimbursement forms to bookkeeping
  • Coordinating CELTA assessor visits
Professional Development Coordination
  • Maintaining active status as a CELTA assessor
  • Communicating opportunities for Professional Development (PD) to all BridgeTEFL trainers
  • Reviewing PD documentation forms before submission to Director
  • Coordination bi-annual and annual PD meetings to discuss new issues in ELT
Quality Assurance
  • Reviewing all final course evaluations and addressing concerns
  • Proofreading new curricula in conjunction with curriculum developers
  • Reviewing current course content and making recommendations for updates and/or modifications
  • Hiring and training new trainers when necessary
  • Monitoring TO.com tutors and BCELT professors to ensure consistency in grading and teaching procedures
  • Conducting initial ATC site visits and/or annual ATC QA visits (may require travel)

Requirements:

  • M.A. TESOL
  • Proficiency in at least one foreign language
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience teaching English abroad in a variety of contexts
  • Authorization to run the CELTA a plus
  • TEFL certification a plus
  • Curriculum development experience a plus

Salary:

Salary is $38,000-$42,000 depending on experience. Benefits package includes health insurance.
