Regional Director Presents at EnglishUSA Conference

Natasha Ala, North American Regional Director at Bridge, presented at this years’ EnglishUSA Professional Development Conference in San Francisco, California. EnglishUSA is the largest membership organization specifically serving and supporting Intensive English Programs (IEPs) in the United States and their seventh annual two-day conference consisted of more than 40 sessions, presentations, networking lunches and exhibitors.

Ala’s interactive presentation, “Student Services: Moving from a Reactive to Proactive Approach,” was designed to help the participants reflect on student services at their institutions and to share best practices. She focused on broad topics that could be applied to all IEPs, since individual programs can be extremely unique.

An open dialogue generated ideas beneficial to all participants - and Ala guided the audience in thinking and discussing ideas for improving students’ overall experience. Through audience discussion, group interaction and Ala sharing her personal experiences, concerns and informal research, the participants were able to walk away with a general list of best practices for student services that could be applied immediately.

Bridge offers IEPs at BridgeEnglish centers in Denver, Argentina, and Chile, and at their BridgePathways centers on university campuses throughout the United States.
